About Us

Laura Attard, owner of Dog Lounge, started working with animals at a very early age as a volunteer at animal shelters. It was in 1995 while working as a Vet tech at an animal hospital, that she realized that working with dogs was of supreme importance to her. Laura spent the following years training and caring for dogs, and helping dog owners raise well adjusted pets. This experience convinced Laura that there was a real need for a place that focused on the dogs having a positive experience with training and a fun environment for play. In 1996, Laura created Kritter-Sitter which later evolved and opened its doors as Dog Lounge. Dog Lounge was Toronto’s first and only doggy-daycare training centre owned and operated by a Veterinary technician.
